I live in Houston, Texas and I have always loved to type, type, type! In high school I excelled at typing on the old time typewriter! Computers today make it so much easier! On my latest typing test I typed at 120 words per minute with NO ERRORS!

I've been transcribing since the early 1980s when I started as a receptionist for a local engineering firm. From there I went into the insurance industry working for various independent insurance claims adjusters. My break came when I started working for a local claims adjuster as a temp. They liked my work so much that I started doing contract work for them in the evenings and on the weekends in their offices. From there, I invested in a computer and I continued to transcribe for those independent insurance adjusters up until they closed their doors in early 2001.

I opened the doors of Your Typing Genie in July of 1998 and began doing contract work for a local attorney. I prepared his pleadings, motions, briefs and general correspondence on a daily basis until he went out of business in 2005. I have a diverse clientele, including book authors, web designers, personal development coaches.
